Here is a step-by-step guide to set up your AC2600 XR500 – Nighthawk Pro Gaming Router.
Firstly, unpack your brand new dual-band Nighthawk router. The package includes a power adapter, an Ethernet cable, the four antennas and obviously the XR500 router. The front panel of the router contains status LEDs, top panel has two buttons with LEDs and the left side panel contains two USB 3.0 ports.
Attach the antennas to the router. Connect two antennas to the rear panel and one antenna to each side panel. Make sure to position the antennas in a manner so that you get the best WiFi performance.
Position Your Router
The next step is to place the Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming WiFi Router. Position it within the reach of an AC power socket. Also, remember to keep it away from electrical devices such as computers, ceiling fans, microwaves, home security systems and cordless phones as these factors limit your WiFi range.
Cable Your Router
After the router placement, power it on and connect it to the modem. For this, follow the steps below:
- Unplug your modem and then plug it in after a few seconds.
- Plug the power adapter of your router into an electrical outlet.
- Connect the modem to your Netgear Nighthawk XR500 router.
Now, switch on the router. Check the status of LEDs to make sure that the router is turned on.
